Qatar donates $30M for 55,000 Gaza families needs, job creation, others

The Qatar Government has donated $30 million to people in Gaza, part of which would be use to fund 55,000 needy families in war torn state, while rest were expected to be channel towards job creation.

It was also learnt that part of the Qatar’s donation would also be put toward food packages to support families fasting.

As for the 55,000 needy families, the gathered the government has plans to pay 100-dollar to each families, just as it earmarked larger portion of the fund for creation of 20,000 job in coordination with UNRWA, a UN agency for Palestinians.

The Head, Qatari Committee for Reconstruction in Gaza Strip, Mohamed el-Amadi, disclosed that Qatari envoy had delivered 30 million dollars in aid to the Gaza Strip and that the aid had come after bloody escalation between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, about two weeks ago.

Speaking from his office on Tuesday, el-Amadi, said that after a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, Qatar had a week ago announced that it had allocated 480 million dollars in aid to Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza.

There claimed that Qatar has close ties with the Islamist Hamas movement, which rules the Gaza Strip, whereas Hamas is classified as a terrorist organisation by the United States, the European Union, and Israel.

However, both Israel and Egypt imposed a blockade on Gaza for over a decade, which they justify with security reasons.

There were reports of how two million people living in Gaza under harsh conditions including shortage of drinking water and electricity, among other things.
