Following crisis that had enveloped Lagos recently, the State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, has been redeployed to the Force headquarters, Abuja.
The Guild gathered on Sunday that Edgal would be replaced by an Acting Commissioner of police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Edgal, in a circular released by Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, was expected to resume as the Commissioner of police in charge of explosive ordinance unit at the force headquarter Abuja.
Edgal, was appointed Lagos Commissioner of Police August 2017 after his efforts aided the end of the notorious cultist group popularly called Badoo in Ikorodu axis of the state.
It would be recalled that Egbetokun was former Commander of Rapid Response Squad, RRS, a special police formation in the state.
Edgal redeployment came barely a week after the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial campaign flag-off was marred by violence which led to a chieftain of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly called MC Oluomo and others including three journalists sustained varying degree of injuries at the venue.
Though, Edgal has been able to boost security in the state but many alleged that he could not be exonerated from the recent crisis because he had been informed and promised to ensure free campaign exercise.
