Hours after President Muhammadu Buhari returned from his hometown in Daura, Kastina State to Abuja, met All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors behind closed doors.
It was learned that the meeting was to appraise the just concluded gubernatorial election especially the states were the poll had been declared inconclusive by Independent national Electoral Commission, (INEC).
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Abdul’Aziz Yari of Zamfara State led the governors to meet the President at the Aso Villa, shortly after his arrival.
Others that joined him on the trip include Kashim Shettima (Borno), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), and Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.
Some of the governors were re-elected for a second term in the March 9 elections.
Although the purpose of the meeting was not made known, the visit came three days after the Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
