The Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sadness over lost of Adamawa State first civilian Governor, Abubakar Michika, who was reported to have died yesterday and immediately buried according to Islamic rite.
Beside, he also extended his condolence to the deceased family after reported lost of Michika who was said to had died, from coma where he had remained for several days at Federal Medical Centre, Yola.
Through a statement released by his media office in Abuja on Sunday, the former vice president reminisced on how the late Michika had pioneered Adamawa State into its democratic journey in 1992 as it’s first civilian governor under the then governing National Republican Convention (NRC) in the state.
According to him, Michika was a banker with the British Bank of West Africa, later worked with John Holt company before venturing into politics.
“I condoled with the Michika family, people of Michika and the government and people of Adamawa State over the loss.
“I pray to Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus and fortitude to the family to bear the loss”.
