Atiku expresses sadness over Plateau Sen. Sagaya death

The Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said that Senator John Shagaya, who died after a ghastly motor accident over the weekend, would be missed by entire country particularly the people of Langtang and Plateau State, just as he expressed sadness over the death of the man.

While consoling his family to courageously accept reality of late senator’s death, Atiku noted that the Army former general would be sorely missed by the entire country, including his contribution to security of the nation.

Through a statement released on Monday by former vice president media office in Abuja, Atiku described the late military officer as one of the remarkable and distinguished Nigerians of his generation.

Eulogising the deceased as a wise and adaptable personality, Atiku recalled the ease with which the late senator transformed from a military officer to a civilian and won confidence of his people to become an elected senator.

He said that Shagaya was a gentle and peaceful man stressing that his invaluable counsel would have been very useful at a time of crisis in many parts of the country.
