The Governor of Lagos State,Akinwunmi Ambode and the All Progressives Congress, APC deputy Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, have won their polling units for the party candidates.
The APC gubernatorial candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and house of assembly candidate, Abiodun Tobun, were announced to have polled the highest votes at both polling units.
At Ambode’s polling unit 033, Ogunmodede, Ward 05, Ajaganabe, Sanwo-Olu polled 262 votes as against his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje, who recorded 62 votes.
Also, on the House of Assembly, Tobun had 253 votes to defeat his closest rival, the PDP candidate, who polled 61 votes.
At Hamzat’s polling units, 02, 04 Oke- Balogun, the APC gubernatorial candidate polled 198 votes as against Agbaje who recorded 33 votes.
The APC candidate for House of Assembly also polled 195 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who recorded 32 votes.
The Governor, who spoke to journalists shortly after voting, harped on the need to enhance democracy and promote the culture of one man one vote.
“I believe strongly that in doing this we would continue to enhance the tenets of democracy and like you can see, we believe that with this, we are promoting the culture of one man one vote and then also improve on the State’s well-being and the good governance that we have always enjoyed in Lagos State.
“I’m happy that I have done this and I will do it again,” the Governor said.
